We made scones!

I've been to England three times. I have been an Anglophile since I was about 10 years old. My best friend is British. So, yeah I love scones. Now, let me tell you those weird triangle shaped things at coffee shops are American scones. They're OK, but they're not the scones I like (and I don't really think they should even be called scones). Everytime I visit, the very first day there, I take a trip to Sainsbury's or ASDA and stock up on REAL chocolate (let me tell you even their cheap store brand is better than ANY American chocolate!) and tons of scones. Walking into an ASDA is just like walking in to a super Walmart here, and it took forever after coming home last time to stop going off to look for scones everytime I went. So, yeah it's an addiction. (Don't even get me started on hot syrup steamed pudding and custard OH MY GOD)

So, anyway, today my 13 yr old, Rhiannon wanted to make something. At first she wanted to bake bread, but wasn't happy about the whole rise time. She's very spontaneous like I am. So, I thought maybe biscuits, and then it occurred to me, SCONES! They're even real cream scones since I actually had a carton of heavy cream in the fridge. She whipped some of the cream to serve it fresh over the scones.

I'm totally in heaven. Siiiiigghhhhhh I'm such a geek. (You should see me when Doctor Who comes on!)

Aren't they yummy looking?

Of course I had to use my pretty china. :D

Now if only I could go sit on my back porch and enjoy these. Unfortunately it rained earlier so the chairs are all wet. At least my plants got watered!

Have a great day y'all!
